As pharmacy preceptors, you play a central role in the Professional Experience Program. You serve as mentors and role models who demonstrate high standards of professionalism; you show students how to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to daily practice; you evaluate student progress.
Experiential education provides experiences in real-life settings. In pharmacy education, the experiential component is designed to provide in-depth exposure to and active participation in all pharmacy practice settings.
If you are interested in developing a pharmacy practice experience site for students at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, please contact the Office of Experiential Education via email at COPExpEd@umn.edu and include the following information:
- Full name
- Site name and address
- Preferred email and telephone number for follow-up
- Statement (300 words or less) telling us why you want to take students at your site.
Please note: An Affiliation Agreement between the College and the site is required prior to any student placement. If your site is approved, the Office of Experiential Education will send you an agreement for your consideration and signature(s). The document must be signed by someone with legal authority at your site.
