The PRIME Institute is an independent and global research, education and consulting organization whose mission is the study of the economic and policy issues to help improve popular access to pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical services.

The Wulling Center for Innovation and Scholarship in Pharmacy Education

The Wulling Center for Innovation and Scholarship in Pharmacy Education mission is to advance pharmacy education by supporting our member faculty and fostering collaborative relationships.  W-CISPE is dedicated to focused and deliberate educational innovations and rigorous educational scholarship.

Chairs

Century Mortar Club Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Management & Economics

The Century Mortar Club Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Management & Economics provides strong leadership to a program of research, service and education that addresses broad issues related to pharmaceuticals, pharmacists' services, and their impact on health care and society. The endowed chair is funded by the college's Century Mortar Club, the estates of Mildred and William Peters, donations from Minnesota pharmacists and friends of pharmacy, and University funds.

Peters Chair in Pharmacy Practice Innovation

The Peters Chair in Pharmacy Practice Innovation has been established through the vision and generosity of a substantial gift from William and Mildred Peters. Their gift was intended to stimulate innovation and research that would advance the practice of pharmacy. Designation of the Peters Chair in Pharmacy Practice Innovation will recognize faculty members with a distinguished record of research and teaching related to advancement and innovation in pharmacy practice.

INNOVATIONS in pharmacy

A quarterly publication inspiring inquiry and improvement in pharmacy practice, education, and policy. INNOVATIONS in pharmacy features case studies, clinical experiences, commentaries, idea papers, original research, review articles, and student projects that focus on leading edge, novel ideas for improving, modernizing, and advancing pharmacy practice, education, and policy.

Social and Administrative Pharmacy Graduate Program (SAPh)

The widespread use and dependency on drugs and drug products in today's society, coupled with an increased utilization and application of pharmaceutical services, has created a need for individuals who can study the social, psychosocial, political, legal, historic and economic factors that impinge upon the use, non-use and abuse of drugs

The Postgraduate (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program

The University of Minnesota Postgraduate (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program is a multi-site program focusing on the practice of pharmaceutical care organized around community clinic, rural health and pharmaceutical care leadership. The span of sites is among the largest of any program nationally, offering residents a wide range of settings to become skilled practitioners through individualized learning experiences.

Alliance for Integrated Medication Management (AIMM)

AIMM is a non-profit organization working to support wide-spread adoption of team-based medication management services into the care of high-risk, high-cost patients suffering from multiple chronic health conditions. AIMM partners with health systems, community health centers, primary care clinics, community pharmacies  and other stakeholders committed to driving change in our health care system from the ground up by creating accountability for patient safety and health and improving quality of care.

Institute for Health Informatics (IHI)

The Institute for Health Informatics educates students and conducts research in the fields of biomedical and health informatics, focusing on the design, use, and evaluation of information systems that support and improve healthcare while protecting the safety and confidentiality of those who receive that care. It is an interdisciplinary endeavor that encompasses work in a variety of settings from tertiary care hospitals to specialty clinics, mental health facilities, community clinics, nursing homes, and home care agencies.

National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education

The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education is a public-private partnership that contributes to the transformation of health care by identifying ways to improve health, enhance patient care and control costs through integrating interprofessional practice and education. By rigorously aligning and integrating the needs and interests of health professions education with practice, the center aims to create a transformational “nexus” to incubate ideas, define the field, guide program development and research.

Natural Language Processing / Information Extraction Program (NLP/IE)

NLp/ IE is a team of investigators, postdoctoral researchers, programmers, and students who work together on natural language processing (NLP) for a variety of clinical and biomedical tasks. They use NLP/IE to process, extract, and encode information from unstructured biomedical and clinical texts, including clinical texts from the electronic health record. These techniques are then leveraged to support the invention of new healthcare and research applications and the investigation of healthcare interventions.
