For Dr. Ben Krolak, occupational therapy (OT) opened new doorways. He originally planned to pursue physical therapy, but the more information he found out about OT, the more it seemed to better align with his personality and interests.

Second-year PharmD student Alexis Ploutz-Snyder says the only truth in life a person can count on is change. She spent most of her life planning to attend medical school and become a doctor, but by the end of the two gap years she took following her undergraduate education, she was heading to pharmacy school instead.

Third-year pharmacy student Taylor Mathiasen’s advice to incoming students is to “get involved early” and she certainly leads by example.

PhD student Mary Raphel Daniel’s fear of public speaking didn’t stop her from becoming the Judge’s Winner and People’s Choice Winner of the College of Pharmacy’s 2025 3-Minute Thesis competition. Her project, called "The Heart-Spleen Axis - A Tale of Two Organs,” focuses on the effect of chemotherapy drugs on the heart.
