The Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology graduate program at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy is an innovative, interdisciplinary program that trains students to conduct research encompassing methodology from basic and clinical pharmacology perspectives.

The Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology (ECP) graduate program was designed specifically for students interested in clinical research. Its goal is to advance the science of human pharmacology and therapeutics to improve the safe, effective, and economical use of drugs by patients.
Students study such topics as experimental pharmacotherapy, drug metabolism, infectious disease, neuroscience/neuropharmacology, pharmacometrics, and pharmacogenomics. Graduates are prepared for distinguished careers in clinical research.
*NOTE: Effective January 13, 2025 the minimum Research Assistant rate of pay for the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology is $31.72 per hour. Effective August 25, 2025 the minimum Research Assistant rate of pay will increase to $32.83 per hour.
