Bryan Magana Excels at ICAR 2026
May 5, 2026
We’d like to extend our congratulations to PhD candidate Bryan Magana from Professor Carston “Rick” Wagner’s lab for representing the department at the International Conference on Antiviral Research (ICAR). The event is sponsored by the International Society on Antiviral Research (ISAR) and is one of the premier conferences on antiviral research in the world.
Bryan’s poster on novel anti-Dengue proTides entitled Development of Chemically-Activated and Metabolically-Stable ProTides for the Treatment of Dengue was selected for a second-place award among graduate students from around the world at the conference. You can read more about Bryan's research and the work of the Wagner Lab here.
To attend the conference, Bryan was awarded aid in the form of an $800 travel award to support his attendance at ICAR. We’re grateful for this support and thrilled that Bryan was able to attend and have an impact at the meeting.
Bryan, you should be very proud of his accomplishment!
