Four students from our department participated and two won awards.

Raven works in the laboratory of Prof. Gunda Georg, a worldwide leader in male contraception.

Captain Howlett is a PhD Student in Prof. Elizabeth Ambrose’s laboratory in Medicinal Chemistry.

Dr. Raj Suryanarayanan, professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, is the recipient of the 2026 Dale E. Wurster Research Award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

Dr. Wendy St. Peter, professor emerita in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems, and her collaborators at the Advancing Kidney Health through Optimal Medication Management initiative were recipients of a 2026 Pinnacle Award from the American Pharmacists Association Foundation.

Kiersten, Chloe, and Irina will all be predoctoral fellows on the UMN's Chemical Biology Interface Training Grant.

The lecture, established in 2023, honors Dr. Duane Miller, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy.

The lecture is housed in the Department of Chemistry and Texas A&M University – Kingsville.

The Abul-Hajj and Hanna Award for Exceptional Graduate Student in Medicinal Chemistry is presented yearly to a student who is both a strong scientist and a strong departmental citizen.
