Ehfazul Haque Impresses at NMCS in Atlanta
June 3, 2026
The Department is proud of PhD candidate Ehfazul “Ehfaz” Haque’s impact at the National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium (NMCS) this year in Atlanta, GA! He is a member of Prof. Gunda Georg’s laboratory.
Ehfaz gave a very exciting poster presentation entitled Discovery of Second Generation RAR Alpha/Gamma Dual Inhibitors as Male Contraceptive Agents that won a coveted “Best Poster” award at the symposium. It was also one of only 12 abstracts from graduate students, postdocs, and early-career faculty that was selected for an oral presentation on the same topic as his poster. The talk was very well-received, too.
When asked about the opportunity, Ehfaz told us: “I am honored to have the opportunity to share the important male contraceptive research being carried out in the Georg Lab with the broader medicinal chemistry community.”
His travel to the NMCS was supported by a Trainee Success Travel Grant from the Male Contraceptive Initiative and travel funds from the Medicinal Chemistry Department.
If you want to read more about what Ehfaz is working on in the Georg Lab, you can do so here on the group’s website.
Congratulations to Ehfazul on these accomplishments! We know there are great things in store for him.
