Buck, Cox, and Zhilinskaya Named NIH T32 Fellows

We’re happy to announce that three students were named NIH T32 Fellows on the Chemistry Biology Interface Training Grant (CBITG) that’s housed here at the University of Minnesota: Kiersten Buck (Tretyakova Lab), Chloe Cox (Duerfeldt Lab), and Irina Zhilinskaya (Georg Lab)!
The NIH T32 training program is meant to enable institutions to recruit individuals for predoctoral and postdoctoral research training in specified shortage areas. The goal is to prepare qualified trainees for careers that have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the nation.
Predoctoral trainees for the CBITG training grant program are selected from a pool of graduate students who have been recruited by the Chemistry; Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biophysics (BMBB); and Medicinal Chemistry Departments. You can read more about the CBITG here.
All these students will participate in a special seminar series, assist with organizing the Chemical Biology Colloquium, and attended structured professional development opportunities along with the other trainees.
We are proud of these three students, who carry on a long legacy of CBITG Fellows from the Medicinal Chemistry Department!
