A well-deserved congratulations to Chenwei Yan, undergraduate student working with CODR, on her summer internship at the Global Liver Institute as a Pediatric and Rare Liver Disease Intern. 

Dr. Reena Kartha was invited to speak at the 6th National Indian Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism Virtual Conference on August 28-29, 2021.

On September 30, speakers from FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) presented during CODR's Seminar Series. A recording of that presentation is available here

Dr. Kartha was recently honored by Engage Health as a Rare Disease Difference Maker for her positive impact in the rare disease community.

Global Genes is hosting Dr. Reena Kartha for one of their Ask Me Anything sessions on October 27, 12:30pm EST. Dr. Kartha's course on Rare Diseases: What it Takes to be a Medical Orphan, her research on oxidative stress and rare inherited metabolic disorders, and CODR's collaboration with the Dept. of Theater Arts and Dance to produce a play that examines the challenges of those living with rare disorders are all being highlighted. 

Congratulations to Sruthi Subramanian on earning a 2021 Empower Scholarship from Courage Kenny. 

The FDA, NIH, 10 pharmaceutical companies, and 5 nonprofit organizations have partnered to accelerate development of gene therapies for the 30 million Americans with rare diseases. 

Dr. Krach, an affiliate member of CODR, was recently awarded the Gabriella E. Molnar-Swaffort Pediatric PM&R Lifetime Achievement Award for her work as an educator, advocate and skilled provider for patients diagnosed with spina bifida and cerebral palsy. 

The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) has selected the University of Minnesota and 30 others to become designated as Rare Disease Centers of Excellence.
