Laura Hirsch

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry is thrilled to congratulate PhD Student Laura Hirsch for receiving an ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry Predoctoral Fellowship for 2024-25. Laura is under the tutelage of Prof. Daniel Harki in his laboratory.

The award is for predoctoral students in their third or fourth year of graduate study engaged in medicinal chemistry research in a Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemistry department.

"I am truly honored to be chosen for the ACS MEDI predoctoral fellowship and I am beyond grateful for the support from the department, advisors, and colleagues that has helped me land this award,” Laura shared.

Laura is developing chemical degraders of N-Myc for neuroblastoma therapy. We are excited to see her recognized with this prestigious fellowship and know that she has a long and fruitful career ahead of her.

A student in the Chemistry Department, Taimeng Liang, was also awarded an ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry Predoctoral Fellowship for 2024-25. Taimeng is advised by and works in the lab of Dr. Gunda Georg, a Medicinal Chemistry faculty member.
