CODR is proud to share the news that one of our own, Vijay Ivaturi, MS, PhD, is the new President of the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP). He will begin his two-year term in January 2024. As President, Dr. Ivaturi will oversee the development of ISoP’s three-year strategic plan to advance ISoP’s mission for the promotion and advancement of the discipline of pharmacometrics. According to Cynthia (CJ) Musante, the former ISoP President, “Dr. Ivaturi has contributed to advancing our society’s initiatives and the field of pharmacometrics for many years. I look forward to his continued leadership as ISoP transitions to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we advance our shared vision for the society.”

“It is an honor to serve as the next President-elect of ISoP. Volunteering and being part of ISoP has been a highlight of my career for the last 14 years since ACoP 2008,” said Dr. Ivaturi, Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Pumas-AI. “I look forward to working with the membership and our partners to promote and democratize the field of pharmacometrics globally. I am especially excited about expanding our efforts internationally, promoting diversity and inclusion across all facets of our community, welcome emerging areas of pharmacometrics, such as model-informed drug development, model-informed precision dosing and machine learning.”

Dr. Ivaturi was a PhD student in the ECP graduate program from 2007-2010.  His advisor was James Cloyd, PharmD.  His thesis, entitled "Intranasal and Rectal Diazepam for Rescue Therapy: Assessment of Pharmacokinetics and Tolerability,” was a key contribution to the FDA approval of Valtoco, an intranasal diazepam orphan product.
