Cindy Luo named CSHP Foundation's Trustees Education Sabbatical Grant winner

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Solid Organ Transplant), Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, BC

Sabbatical focus: application, integration and implementation of pharmacogenomics (PGx) to clinical pharmacy practice

Cindy’s sabbatical will be conducted at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, and affiliated sites in Minnesota, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Pamala Jacobson. There are three main objectives she would like to achieve during the sabbatical. The first is to describe the role of pharmacists in the integration and implementation of PGx to clinical settings. The second objective is to create a PGx implementation proposal and business plan under the mentorship of Dr. Jacobson The third objective will be to integrate PGx into her clinical research.  The experience gained during this sabbatical will teach Cindy how to resolve challenges in her research project for using PGx in the transplant program, and about opportunities for integrating PGx into clinical practice.
