Welcome from the Director
Another year has flown by and with it our program has adapted to many changes within the residency environment. Beginning in July 2026, multisite programs outside of the community based standard will no longer exist. Our program was granted an exemption to this change and will soon be the only multisite PGY1 in the pharmacy subcategory. While we are grateful to be able to continue to provide residency training through a multisite model that has stood the test of time in delivering excellent training, we are learning to navigate new challenges as a result of being the only such program.
Our program has decided to move to a combination of in person and virtual interviews for our upcoming admissions cycle. We considered a lot of different factors in making this decision. In our review, we learned that many programs locally are offering in person interviews and have found that candidates prefer this format. We decided to continue to offer a virtual option in an effort to maintain accessibility for our applicants. I’m sure we’ll learn a lot from this shift in process.
I am grateful for another great year! I’d like to share a big thanks for our administrative team (Amy Pavelka, Jody Lounsbery, Lucas Cannon, student worker Sana Tabei), site coordinators, preceptors, alumni, and of course our residents for making it happen!
Sincerely,
Maggie Ricco, PharmD, MS, BCACP
