R. Kip Guy, Ph.D., joined the College of Pharmacy as dean in July 2025. Kip has held various leadership roles throughout his career, including dean at the University of Kentucky’s College of Pharmacy, where he also held the professor of pharmaceutical sciences. Prior to that he served as the inaugural chair of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and also held adjunct professor positions at Vanderbilt University and the University of California, San Francisco.
In 2020 Dr. Guy was elected a Fellow of the American Association of the Advancement of Science, and in 2023 he won the Phil Portoghese Award for Medicinal Chemistry from the American Chemical Society. Kip currently serves as an ex-officio member of our Residency Advisory Committee and looks forward to working with preceptors and residents in our program.
