Kati Dvorak, PharmD
Welia Health
Nominated by Sierrah Althaus, 2025 graduate
"Dr. Kati Dvorak deserves the Preceptor of the Year award because of her dedication to the profession of pharmacy, patient-centered care, and mentorship of her residents. Kati is a board member for MPhA and is very involved in this organization- her enthusiasm for advocating for pharmacy is contagious and is a large source of inspiration for our health system pharmacists to stay involved. She is always patient-centered when caring for patients both inpatient and in the clinic settings, and is always extremely thoughtful when creating a plan of care. She challenges her residents to consider all facets of a patient's medication regimen and to always work at the top of your license as an ambulatory care pharmacist. I am continuously pushed to dig deeper and expand my knowledge as a resident pharmacist under her mentorship." - Sierrah Althaus
"The mediocre mentor tells. The good mentor explains. The superior mentor demonstrates. The greatest mentors inspire!"
–Lucia Ballas Traynor
"Kati embodies this quote as she goes beyond an explanation, but consistently lives and demonstrates her practice as a pharmacist daily. She 'walks the walk' when it comes to advocating for the profession as is evident in her involvement with MPhA. She mentors not just one but two resident pharmacists in a wide range of settings, from the clinic to inpatient to retail pharmacies within the health system. She inspires me to be the best pharmacist daily, not through her words but through her actions."
