Dr. Larry Weaver

Dr. Larry Weaver

Dr. Larry Weaver (posthumously awarded), played a key role in the founding of the Century Mortar Club over fifty years ago, along with former Spirit of the CMC Founders' Award recipient, Bill Hodapp. A student-centered pharmacy leader, Dean Weaver led with an upbeat spirit and a focus on pharmacy students that never waivered. He supported students unconditionally in his educator role and considered them his “pharmacy kids” throughout their career. One way of doing this was through the Century Mortar Club.

While Dr. Weaver is remembered in Minnesota and worldwide for his many pharmacy leadership accomplishments, his seminal role in the founding of the CMC has not been widely recognized. Without him, the Century Mortar Club may never have been formed. With this award, we have now recognized all of the original founders of the Century Mortar Club - a fitting recognition for Dr. Weaver, who worked tirelessly to bring resources and experiences to our students.
