Biography

Bio

Shaquib Al Hasan is currently pursuing a PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy after finishing his MS in Pharmacy Administration from St. John’s University, New York. Prior to going back to graduate school, he worked as a Brand Executive and Senior Brand Executive in Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Having a background in pharmacy and marketing, his interests involves how health services such as medication therapy management services can be promoted. He used one of the health behavior theories to understand factors influencing patients’ intention to seek pharmacist provided medication therapy management services. He also worked on patient-reported outcomes of patient support program provided to patients using intermittent catheters. Currently, he is interested in using secondary data to explore medication use pattern in patients with chronic diseases. His overall research interests involve health services, health policy, health disparity, medication use, and chronic diseases.

Research Summary

Mr. Hasan has previously worked on medication therapy management services. He has used patient-reported survey to understand factors influencing patients’ intention to seek pharmacist provided medication therapy management services. As a part of my traineeship with Coloplast corp., he has also worked on patient-reported outcomes of patient support program provided to patients using intermittent catheters. Currently, he is interested in using secondary data to explore medication use pattern in patients with chronic diseases.
