Andy Duszynski
Andy Duszynski makes the College of Pharmacy's complicated financial matters both maximally accurate and easier. He does this in an approachable, friendly and helpful manner. In working with Andy, his cheerful, upbeat, and positive attitude and outlook make the efforts seem much more enjoyable. Nothing seems too complicated for Andy. He has the ability to make complicated financial issues seem much less complicated.
Besides being a financial expert, Andy also provides a uniquely special service for the college as a gifted musician who plays guitar and sings at college events. Andy is truly a talented entertainer and a College of Pharmacy asset.
Marilyn Eelkema
If ever there was someone who deserved the Hats Off Award, it is Marilyn Eelkema. A past president of the Pharmacy Alumni Society who served on the PAS Board of Directors for two terms several years apart, Marilyn is a longtime Century Mortar Club board member and a former member of the board of directors of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. She has received the Mentor of the Year award from the PAS and the Friend of the College award from the CMC.
What makes Marilyn deserving of Hats Off recognition, however, is the fact that whenever the college has a function of some kind, Marilyn is there. Marilyn always seems to support college receptions, dinners, lectures, and events of any kind by her attendance. She is an unbelievably loyal participant of things that the college offers, and she has exhibited this loyalty for multiple decades.
Because of Marilyn Eelkema's special, long standing loyalty to the college and her years of support of college functions, she has earned Hats Off honors.
Caitlyn Nygaard
Caitlyn Nygaard makes Alumni Affairs recruiting efforts much easier by all that she does to support them. She is the ultimate team player in her work with prospective students. For Caitlyn, the job that is to be done is the focus of her efforts as a team member.
Her nominator writes, “As I have worked with Caitlyn, she has sent emails to the contacts on every campus for which a visit has been desired. She also has followed up with the contacts and sent email flyers for the upcoming visits. In addition, she has put powerpoints together and usually participated in virtual visits to selected schools, usually colleges/universities in Hawaii.
Working with Caithlyn Nygaard has been a pleasure. She has made me a much better College of Pharmacy recruiting representative by all of the support that she has given to my efforts to connect with prospective students. As far as I am concerned, she literally is the definition of the perfect teammate.”
