Keynote Speaker
Mary Vining Radomski, PhD, FAOTA is a just-retired occupational therapist and rehabilitation scientist who studies purpose in life renewal after health transitions at Allina Health. She received her education at the University of Minnesota: BS in OT (1977); MS and PhD in Educational Psychology (1996, 2007). Her research has largely centered on cognitive assessment and treatment after brain injury and her clinical experience and research training set the stage for a many-year collaboration with the United States Army Office of the Surgeon General – Rehabilitation and Reintegration Division. Informed in part by her research with Service Members, since 2016, Mary has led a team of clinicians and researchers who study purpose in life renewal. She has served as principal investigator of a number of studies evaluating a purpose renewal “intervention” called the Compass Course for people with cancer, COVID-19, and brain injury.
Mary’s research has fueled her lifelong passion for living with purpose, which will extend into retirement. Mary and colleagues now offer the Compass Course in the community and she has created ChoosingPurpose.com and companion newsletter to share new research and her own musings on this important topic.
