Chad Thompson
Chad Thompson, a 2008 graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program, has built a distinguished career as a Navy physician while continually championing the value of medical laboratory science. After beginning as a phlebotomist, he completed the MLS program, attended the University of Minnesota Medical School on a Navy scholarship, and trained as both a flight surgeon and emergency physician. Now serving as Department Head of the Emergency Department at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, he credits his MLS background with giving him a significant clinical edge and uses that knowledge daily while advocating for the essential role of MLS professionals.
