Joseph Shultz, PhD, Named New Chief of Operations

Dr. Joseph Shultz, has accepted the position of chief of operations for the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.

Shultz earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his master’s degree at Indiana State University. He received his PhD in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota. Previously, he was the assistant vice president and deputy chief of staff for the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. Shultz has filled this role for the college in an interim capacity since November 2021.

Shultz joins the college with tremendous experience, both at the University of Minnesota and in higher education. His background includes teaching, research, publication and presentation experience. His leadership experience and familiarity with broader University objectives will continue to serve strategic priorities and major initiatives of the college.
