Ron Siegel Named Interim Department Head for Pharmaceutics

Ron Siegel, ScD, has been named interim head of the Pharmaceutics Department, effective Feb. 17, 2020.
Ron is a collaborative leader who previously served as the department head for Pharmaceutics from 1999 to 2009. During that time he integrated the biological and physical aspects of pharmaceutics into a strong and vibrant department. Throughout his career, Ron has made significant contributions to enhancing the understanding of drug action and delivery.
He received his ScD degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984. From 1984 to 1998, Ron was on the faculty of the School of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco. He moved to the University of Minnesota in 1998. He is also on the faculty of the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
