Medicinal Chemistry Makes an Impact at Rho Chi Research Day
February 25, 2026
The College of Pharmacy recently held its annual Rho Chi College Research Day and Graduate Student Showcase. The event took place on February 12th in 2026, and our department was there to make an impact.
Jake Schmitt (Georg Lab) won 2nd place for his poster presentation entitled “Design and Synthesis of CatSper Inhibitors for Non-Hormonal Male Contraception.”
Freddys Rodriguez (Wagner Lab) and Farzana Kabir (Harki Lab) both presented as part of the Graduate Student Showcase. Freddys’ talk was entitled “Design and Evaluation of Self-Assembled Multivalent Immune Cell Engagers for Immunotherapy Against Triple-Negative Breast Cancer” while Farzana’s talk was called “Development of Catalytically Inactive APOBEC3A Mutants with Enhanced Thermal Stability and Expression Yield.”
We also give our thanks to Prof. Elizabeth Ambrose, who served as an advisor to the student organizing committee, and Prof. Courtney Aldrich, who served as a judge.
