Kelsey Holdaway Wins Masonic Cancer Center Trainee Research Symposium Flash Talk Competition

November 24, 2025

Kelsey Holdaway

Congratulations to PhD Candidate Kelsey Holdaway on winning the Flash Talk Competition at the Masonic Cancer Center’s Trainee Research Symposium! Read more about the event here. The symposium was organized to showcase the important cancer research of our undergrads, pre- and post-doctoral scholars, early career researchers, residents, and fellows.

The flash talk competition required participants to condense their research into a short, impactful talk that could be understood by folks unfamiliar with their particular research area. Two winners were chosen by a panel of judges made up of basic, translational, and population scientists, and community researchers; they received a $1,000 travel award.

Kelsey’s talk was entitled Covalent-Allosteric CDK2 Inhibitors and focused on the important work she does with Dr. Gunda Georg in the lab. You can read more about the work of the Georg Lab here.

Way to go, Kelsey! And thank you to everyone who participated in the symposium.
