Jerrett Holdaway Selected for Oral Presentation at 2025 National Contraception Meeting
May 16, 2025

The Medicinal Chemistry Department shares our hearty congratulations with Jerrett Holdaway, a PhD candidate in the Georg Lab, whose abstract was selected for an oral presentation at the 2025 National Contraceptive Meeting sponsored in part by the Male Contraceptive Initiative (MCI). You can read more about MCI and the meeting here. The top 5 submitted abstracts were selected for oral presentations and we’re thrilled Jerrett was among that elite group.
Jerrett’s presentation focused on his work developing selective targeted degraders for TSSK1 and TSSK2, which are non-hormonal male contraceptive targets. He has been able to convert a relatively non-selective ATP-site inhibitor for these targets into a series of targeted degraders that significantly improve selectivity profile, offer better metabolic stability, and have demonstrated their ability to almost completely disrupt in vitro fertilization of mice oocytes.
In Jerrett’s own words:
It was a very informative meeting, not just about the development of contraceptive agents, but they also had whole discussions about the unique challenges that these contraceptives have to overcome during clinical trials.
The Georg Lab was well-represented at the meeting, with lab members Ehfazul Haque, Noha Taher, Raven Coil-Otto, and Stefan Groß attending the meeting with Jerrett and Dr. Georg.
We are proud of Jerrett’s achievements and of his selection for a presentation at this important meeting! Congratulations!
