Her talk on November 6th was entitled “Insights from an Academic Career in Medicinal Chemistry: From Leprosy to Contraception.

And her talk on November 7th was entitled: “Discovery and Development of a Male Pill by Targeting the Retinoid Signaling Pathway with YCT-529 for Effective, Reversible Oral Contraception.”

You can read more about Dr. Georg and her laboratory here.

The lecture and award honors Professor Cliff S. Hamilton, a past international leader in the organic chemistry of compounds containing arsenic, antimony and phosphorus. In addition, he helped develop Maphamen, an arsenical formerly widely used against syphilis, and Camoquin, an antimalarial. Prof. Hamilton also held a variety of leadership and other service positions in the field of Medicinal Chemistry and Chemistry at-large.
