Yusuf Abul-Hajj Named American Chemical Society Fellow
Yusuf Abul-Hajj has been named an American Chemical Society (ACS) Fellow. He will be recognized at the society’s fall national meeting in Boston in August.
Dr. Abul-Hajj was recognized for his groundbreaking research in steroid carcinogenesis, identifying aromatase as playing a key role in breast cancer, detailing how Aromatase Inhibitors work on breast cancer, disseminating medicinal chemistry research as the Senior Editor of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and as a symposium organizer at several ACS national meetings.
Additionally, he served as the Chair of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry for 21 years, leading it to an increase in stature as one of the top ranked departments in the country in addition to preparing numerous future medicinal chemists.
The title of ACS Fellow acknowledges a career dedicated to furthering chemistry at all levels.
