The Record Winter 2021
Dear alumni and friends,
Welcome to the new year! It’s safe to say 2020 will be remembered for its great challenges and countless losses, as well as the incredible heroes and moments of triumph that emerged. Through it all, our students, faculty and staff excelled and persevered. The college has always been the home for creativity and innovation and everyone’s efforts in 2020 - students, faculty, staff and alumni - helped to support the college, the profession and our communities and move us forward.
New Giving Societies Will Offer Broader Acknowledgement of Donor Giving
Following the Century Mortar Club’s (CMC) shift in focus, the College of Pharmacy is poised to offer a new donor acknowledgement program: The Dean's Circle Giving Societies. The depth and breadth of generosity shown to the college each year extends to all aspects of our tripartite mission of education, research and practice development. The new Dean's Circle Giving Societies will acknowledge donors at all levels of giving, regardless of which area of impact a donor chooses to support. A future issue of “The Record” will include a detailed explanation of this exciting new acknowledgment program.

A sense of belonging is essential to defining a community. One of the ways the College of Pharmacy is honoring its values of diversity, equity and inclusion, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members of its community is through the formation of affinity groups.
In 2018, we talked with alumnus Purnanand Sarma, ‘92, about getting his PhD at the College of Pharmacy, his work in product development and his career in pharmaceutical industry leadership.
