Marsha Millonig, a 1982 graduate of the College of Pharmacy, has been selected to receive the University of Minnesota Alumni Service Award. The award recognizes her service as a volunteer who has had a major impact on the University. She will receive the award at the Alumni Association's gala celebratory event during Homecoming Week on Oct. 16.

"It was such a wonderful surprise to learn that I was receiving the Alumni Service Award," said Millonig. "I have had the career opportunities I have been fortunate to experience thanks to the solid foundation I received at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. I truly feel I get so much more from my involvement in the college than I give, but it is so very wonderful to receive this recognition."

Millonig has served on the college's Century Mortar Club board since 2003 and is the founding chair of the college's National Board of Advisors. She is an associate fellow of the college's Center for Leading Healthcare Change and a Leadership Networking Partner, as well as a life member of the U's Alumni Association. She also is a practicing pharmacist and owns a healthcare consulting firm, Catalyst Enterprises, which is dedicated to creating change and specializes in projects that allow clients to be more efficient providers of healthcare services toward improved health outcomes.

Her nomination letter stated, "Marsha exemplifies the college's vision to be a world leader in outstanding pharmacy education and research and in improving health. She has consistently demonstrated what it means to be a mentor, a leader, and a person who has dedicated her life to helping others, promoting the College of Pharmacy, and the University of Minnesota."
