MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL — Assistant Professor Heather Blue has been named the 2019 Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) Outstanding Pharmacist Award recipient. The award is presented annually to a pharmacist in recognition of outstanding performance or achievement.

Blue is an emergency medicine pharmacist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minn. Her research focuses on naloxone education and distribution in the Emergency Department. She also teaches acute care pharmacotherapy and infectious disease courses in the college.

“I am pleased and humbled to accept this award and to join past recipients who I have long admired and respected,” said Blue. “I am honored to be recognized by my peers. Being a pharmacist is extremely satisfying; I have the opportunity to collaborate with a great team as well as educate patients, providers and future pharmacists.”

Blue will receive the award at the MSHP Annual Conference on April 12.
