Dr. Caroline Gaither Departing for School of Pharmacy at Chapman University

Caroline A. Gaither, PhD, FAPhA, will leave the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy at a date yet to be determined to pursue a new role as professor of biopharmaceutical sciences in the Department of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and associate dean of academic affairs within the School of Pharmacy at Chapman University in Irvine, California.

Gaither has spent the majority of her career working on issues related to the pharmacists' quality of worklife and other issues related to the pharmacy workforce. This includes all phases of the pharmacist life journey, fostering wellbeing and resilience among student pharmacists, and addressing job stress and burnout among practicing pharmacists. She has led the National Pharmacist Workforce Survey, work that has informed and guided the nation on critical workforce decisions. Gaither's excellent and innovative teaching in the professional and Social and Administrative Pharmacy graduate programs has influenced the lives of countless pharmacists and scientists.

She also served as senior associate dean for professional education for the College of Pharmacy from 2013-2019. Under her leadership, the college successfully launched its new curriculum and received a full eight-year accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. She went on to support the Professional Education leadership transition before returning to faculty full-time.

Gaither has left an indelible mark on the College of Pharmacy, her colleagues and her students. She will continue to serve as graduate faculty for the college and to collaborate with many individuals on ongoing initiatives.
