Dr. Andrew Traynor Returns to College of Pharmacy as Assistant Dean of Experiential Education and Faculty Member

Andrew Traynor, PharmD, BCPS, has accepted the position of assistant dean of experiential education, effective June 30, 2020. He also holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems.

Dr. Traynor is an alumnus of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. Following his residency graduation at the college, he served as assistant professor and assistant residency director for the Ambulatory Care Residency Program on the Duluth campus.

Most recently, Dr. Traynor worked at Concordia University Wisconsin's School of Pharmacy in Mequon, Wisconsin. There he was a professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He was also the residency director for their PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program and coordinated the teaching skill development of pharmacy residents in the Milwaukee area. Dr. Traynor's teaching has focused on the development of patient care and leadership skills and his focus in pharmacy practice has included the spread and sustainability of comprehensive medication management in ambulatory settings through residency education and academic and practice collaborations. His work has been recognized for its innovation and excellence.

In his new role, Dr. Traynor serves as an innovative and collaborative leader with a vision for advancing pharmacy practice through experiential education. He will have oversight of the Office of Experiential Education where his responsibilities will include program leadership, and program quality assurance and continuous improvement.
