Evaluations Overview

Evaluations help provide third party perspective to your application. It allows the Admissions Committee to learn about you from some of the people who are familiar with your professional and academic experiences and abilities.

The University of Minnesota PharmD requires 2 evaluations (letters of recommendation) and accepts up to 4 evaluations. The evaluations should be from people you know professionally, such as university professors/instructors, work supervisors, or volunteer supervisors, and who can speak to your academic abilities, strengths at work, dedication to community and service, and your unique skills and attributes.

In PharmCAS, applicants enter their evaluators' contact information, and evaluators submit their recommendations directly to PharmCAS. Applicants can enter a due date and a note, which will be visible to the evaluators. It is best practice to provide evaluators with a resume, provide them with an update since you last worked with them, and ideally meet one-on-one to discuss your experiences and interest in pharmacy school.
