 Practice smart public health measures

Continue to practice these smart public health measures to avoid infection with any virus.

  1. Regularly wash your hands vigorously with soap and water for 20 seconds. This handwashing video illustrates the proper technique.

  2. When you can’t wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol and keep your hands wet for 15 seconds or more to kill the virus.

  3. Cover your cough or sneeze.

  4. Stay home if you’re not feeling well.

  5. If you need to touch your face, use a tissue or sleeve to avoid getting the virus in mucus membranes.

  6. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
