This year, the College of Pharmacy graduated 161 Doctor of Pharmacy students – 49 from the Duluth campus and 112 from the Twin Cities campus. Class speakers Grant Anderton (Twin Cities campus) and Tara Haakonson (Duluth campus) spoke at the May 11 ceremony.
The commencement speaker, Judith Jacobi, PharmD, CCM, MCCM, BCCCP, a critical care pharmacist, spoke about professional and personal growth.
“My challenge to you is to work every day to strengthen your role and image as a highly trained professional,” said Jacobi. “Put an emphasis on the service you provide, engage your patients in conversation about their care - no matter where you practice - community or hospital. Be an example for your more seasoned colleagues and remind them of the ideals you possess. Finally, be a force for change - through your job, through the students you may educate, through professional organizations, and though your daily activities.”
