Currently, as a CPR Instructor and Networking Coordinator of Phi Lambda Sigma, she works with pharmacy students to ensure they are both technically competent and poised to capitalize on their personal strengths. Furthermore, she works with interprofessional healthcare teams to promote healthcare outcomes for underserved patients as a volunteer at the free student-run Phillips Neighborhood Clinic.
Policy and advocacy constitute a significant part of Grace’s leadership development. Ms. Baek had the privilege of being elected to APhA-ASP Region 5 Regional Delegate, for which she serves 8 pharmacy schools in the Midwest, for 2016-2017. As Regional Delegate, she works with other members of the Resolutions Committee to discuss and develop background research for resolutions passed at Midyear Regional Meetings throughout the country. Furthermore, Ms. Baek represented the University of Minnesota as the Chapter Delegate with the APhA-ASP House of Delegates at the 2016 APhA Annual Meeting.
Grace is strongly invested in various fields of pharmacy. Ms. Baek currently works at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, East Bank as an inpatient pharmacy intern through the Pharmacist Development Program, where she conducts medication reconciliation in the emergency department and admitted patients, addresses medication issues in communication with physicians and nurses, and compounds sterile intravenous solutions. She is also a pharmacy intern at Walgreens, where she has completed projects to standardize store information communicated to float pharmacists and pharmacy technicians regarding immunizations.
Grace is driven to continue advancing the profession via policy and advocacy, engage colleagues to actively pursue their professional interests, and optimize patient care. To continue her training, Ms. Baek will pursue a residency in administration upon graduation. In her spare time, Grace enjoys traveling, reading as much as possible, watching documentaries, and practicing yoga.
