Jill Spitzmueller, of New Brighton, MN, is pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Minnesota – College of Pharmacy with an expected graduation date of May 2016. She earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2012.
Jill is actively involved in the College of Pharmacy. She is currently serving as the Vice President of Community Outreach for Minnesota Pharmacy Student Alliance and enjoys working with student pharmacists to provide educational programs and health screenings in Duluth and surrounding communities. During her first two years of school, she was the Operation Heart Coordinator and Operation Diabetes Co-Coordinator for Minnesota Pharmacy Student Alliance. Jill is also the Co-Chair of Honor Council and is an executive board member of the Student Chapter of the Bemidji Branch of the Commissioned Officers Association of the USPHS. She is a member of Phi Lambda Sigma National Pharmacy Leadership Society and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. In recognition of her leadership within the College of Pharmacy and the greater community, Jill was nominated for the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists Student Leadership award in 2014.
Jill believes that pharmacists are in a unique position to lead in the ever-evolving health care field in our country. She wants to use her advanced leadership skills to promote the health and well being of individuals within the community, as well as help others grow professionally and develop their leadership skills.
Upon graduation, Jill hopes to pursue a PGY-1 residency in Ambulatory Care and work in an underserved community.
