Research Projects

Tobacco Retail Environment on American Indian Reservations
Working with Dr. Jean Forester in developing research programs to address tobacco retail practices and improve policy to reduce tobacco use among Indigenous groups in MN and WI. Planning to submit for R01 funding.

Reducing Diabetes and Increasing Healthy Activities in Indigenous Communities
Principal Investigator
Working with tribal nations in MN and OK to a community based health intervention utilizing photovoice methods. Invited to apply for a NIH NCAI call for diabetes in Indian Country grant.

Research Associate, UMN/College of Pharmacy Choctaw Nation Youth Photovoice Project
Principal Investigator
Using community based participatory research approach in collaboration with the Choctaw nation to pilot a project in which Indigenous youth will define health through photovoice.
