Summary
Trained under the Geriatric Interdisciplinary Team Training model of care delivery, Dr Scheiner is committed to optimizing the role of medications in older adults. She has practiced in the community, ambulatory and long-term settings and is passionate about ensuring safe and effective medication use in this special population. She co-directs the didactic curriculum in geriatric pharmacotherapy at the college and maintains an Inter professional clinical practice site in a transitional care unit where she precepts APPE students. Her research interests include medication appropriateness in transitions of care, polypharmacy and deprescribing.
