Summary
Dr. Van Hooser is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPPS) and the Director of the Pharmaceutical Care Learning Center on the Duluth campus. Prior to joining the faculty, he worked as an Informatics Pharmacist for St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He has experience in working in multiple community pharmacies and delivering comprehensive medication in various settings. His teaching spans across the curriculum and is concentrated in the second year of the Pharmaceutical Care Skills Lab. Dr. Van Hooser provides comprehensive medication management services and collaborates with the interprofessional healthcare team at Mount Royal Medical Clinic, a family medicine clinic in Duluth, MN. He is a preceptor for IPPE, APPE, PGY-1, and PGY-2 learners. Dr. Van Hooser is passionate about interprofessional education, cardiology, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and performance-based assessments. He enjoys mentoring learners and encouraging them along their pharmacy journey.
