Summary

Lowell Anderson was graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy in 1962. He practiced at Walgreens and Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, and worked in the Department of Administration, State of Minnesota, prior to entering community practice. He owned and practiced at Falcon Heights Pharmacy and Bel-Aire Pharmacy, White Bear Lake, MN before leaving practice in 2006.

He has participated vigorously in both his community and his profession. He has served as a director or officer on professional, hospital, liability insurance company, health-maintenance organization and arts boards. In addition, he has served on, or chaired, community health groups, and legislative committees of inquiry.

In his profession he has served as President of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), Minnesota Pharmacists Association & Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. He also served two terms as Treasurer of APhA. He has served on the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education, various committees for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and as a member of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP).

Internationally he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Community Practice Section of the International Pharmacy Federation (FIP), Chairman of the Working Group on Public Policy for FIP, and is now Co-Editor of the International Journal of Pharmacy (IJP)

Currently he is Co-Director of the Center for Leading Healthcare Change at the College of Pharmacy and manager of the UPlan MTM network for the University of Minnesota employee health plan. He holds an adjunct appointment as professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota.
