Upon graduation, she accepted a position as a biochemical pharmacologist at 3M Pharmaceuticals where she worked for over 4 years conducting pharmacokinetic and drug metabolism studies. In 2003, Dr. Coles was accepted into the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Maryland and received a PhD in 2008 in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Her focus of her project was to evaluate the effect of pregnancy on drug distribution using a gravid mouse model and in vitro cell-based assays.

Research Summary/Interests

Dr. Coles research focuses on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs for the treatment of rare neurological disorders such as neurodegenerative diseases and epilepsy syndromes.
