Summary
Karen Heim-Duthoy is Vice Chair of the Office for Human Subjects Research at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) and is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy. She graduated with a PharmD from Creighton University in 1983 and completed a 2-year Clinical Research Fellowship, Division of Nephrology, at HCMC in 1985. Following completion of the fellowship, Karen developed and implemented clinical practice activities as well as research activities by the Drug Evaluation Unit in the areas of nephrology and renal transplantation. After assuming the role of Vice Chair of the Office for Human Subjects Research, she is responsible for oversight of the human subjects research program at HCMC, which received full accreditation by AAHRPP in 2011. Karen is a member of ACCP and PRIM&R, and was inducted as a Fellow, ACCP, in 1994.
