Summary

Dr. Traynor joined the College of Pharmacy in 2020 after spending 10 years at Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy serving the last six year as Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice. A 2004 alumnus of the University of Minnesota Pharm.D. Program, Dr. Traynor completed the college's 24-month pharmacy practice residency and began his academic career on the Duluth campus as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Residency Director.

Dr. Traynor’s teaching focus is the development of student leadership skills and his scholarship has centered on the development of curriculum to prepare leaders in pharmacy Dr. Traynor’s focus in pharmacy practice has included the spread and sustainability of comprehensive medication management in ambulatory settings through residency education and academic and practice collaborations.

Professional Associations

Dr. Traynor has held several leadership roles in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy on a number of task forces and standing committees and served as Chair-elect, Chair and Past Chair of the Leadership Development SIG from 2013-2016. He has held other leadership positions in state associations and the American Pharmacists Association, most notably serving as APhA-ASP National President from 2003-2004.
