Biography

Bio

Jason Varin R.Ph., PharmD is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota College Of Pharmacy which is also where he received his BS,Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Dr. Varin practiced as a community pharmacist for over 22 years during which time he participated in pharmaceutical care research, implemented clinical pharmacy care, immunization, and disease management programs. He also developed a pharmacist preceptor training and development program and served as preceptor and mentor to scores of student pharmacists.

Expertise

Community Pharmacy management and pharmacist provided clinical services and the impact they have on personal and public health have been my primary foci as a practicing healthcare provider. My engagement outside of practice has been largely dedicated to my personal “Mission Statement” that I drafted as a student in 1991; ““I work to promote mutually beneficial relationships between pharmacy practice, academia and professional associations to garner unified stewardship and effective change in the profession of pharmacy”.

Dr. Varin has provided testimony, interviews, and presentations on a wide range of topics including, Legislative Advocacy, Vaccine Process, Community Pharmacy Management, Opioid Use Disorder and treatment, Scope of Practice, Emergency Use Authorization Policy, Ketamine Use in Drug Enforcement; Staff Recruitment-Training-Professional Development, and How to Maintain Family Harmony during Holiday Gatherings.
