Lisa Coles, MS, PhD

Dr. Coles is an Associate Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics at the Center for Orphan Drug Research (CODR) at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Coles earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1996 and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1998. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as a biochemical pharmacologist at 3M Pharmaceuticals where she worked for over 4 years conducting pharmacokinetic and drug metabolism studies. In 2003, Dr. Coles was accepted into the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Maryland and received a PhD in 2008 in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Her focus of her project was to evaluate the effect of pregnancy on drug distribution using a gravid mouse model and in vitro cell-based assays.

Dr. Coles research focuses on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs for the treatment of rare neurological disorders such as neurodegenerative diseases and epilepsy syndromes.
