Biography

Bio

Dr. Hager joined the faculty of the College of Pharmacy in 2009. Prior to joining the faculty, she developed and implemented ambulatory clinical pharmacy services at multiple clinics for SuperiorHealth Center (now Essentia Health). After serving as the Director of the University of Minnesota Duluth Medication Therapy Management Clinic for nine years, she shifted her clinical focus on bridging care for individuals with opioid use disorder through comprehensive medication management across health care and treatment settings. Her teaching spans the first year to the fourth year of the professional PharmD curriculum. Her practice, teaching, and research focuses on developing an interprofessional collaboration-ready primary care workforce to improve health of the community.

Expertise

Primary Care, Comprehensive Medication Management, Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice

Practice philosophy:
I believe that the pharmacist is an important member of the health care team. My role on the health care team, and responsibility to the patient, is to meet the drug-related needs of each individual patient in a caring and compassionate manner. This is not a responsibility I take lightly. Rational drug use is essential to meeting the needs of patients and minimizes drug-related morbidity and mortality.
