Class of 2016 Graduates
This year, the College of Pharmacy graduated 155 Doctor of Pharmacy students—51 from the Duluth campus and 104 from the Twin Cities campus. Class speakers Brandi Gossard (Twin Cities campus) and Jonathan Pin (Duluth campus) spoke at the May 7 ceremony.
The commencement speaker was Molly J. Ekstrand, R.Ph., medication management program manager at Park Nicollet Health Services. She told graduates, “Since I graduated, I never dreamed of the opportunities that pharmacy would continue to afford me. The practice of pharmacy is evolving and your future will likely look different than what you see today. Whatever your future holds, I hope that you will always be proud to be a pharmacist.”
Ekstrand continued, “Each of you in this hall has the capacity to live a remarkable life with a remarkable career. Now do it! Make your promise: Practice what you love, show your passion, and be present in pharmacy, be present in life.”
