Social, Administrative and Clinical Pharmacy
The mission of the Graduate Program in Social, Administrative and Clinical Pharmacy is the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge to foster appropriate use of drugs in order to improve patient outcomes at the individual and societal level. Our program consists of two tracks:
Social and Administrative Pharmacy Track Ph.D. and M.S Programs
The emphasis of the Social and Administrative Pharmacy Track is the application of behavior-oriented interdisciplinary theories to pharmacy problem solving and pharmacy system development. This includes the study of the social, psychological, political, legal, public policy, historic and economic factors that impinge upon the use, non-use and abuse of drugs. The emphasis of the Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology track is to advance the science of human pharmacology and therapeutics to improve the safe, effective and economical use of drugs by patients. PharmD/ MBA Dual Degree Program
The PharmD/ MBA Dual Degree Program was developed for students who have already been enrolled in the University of Minnesota’s PharmD Program (Twin Cities or Duluth campuses). This program serves students who wish to earn an MBA degree as well as their PharmD. Students apply to the Full-Time MBA Program during the fall semester of their third year in the College of Pharmacy, but do not begin the MBA Program until the fourth year of this five-year dual degree program.
