Practice Management Goals
Demonstrate Leadership in Practice Management
- Participate in the steps required to initiate a pharmaceutical care practice
- Market pharmaceutical care to patients
- Develop a referral system with other health care professionals
- Understand strategies for determining the value of and securing compensation for pharmaceutical care
- Understand the contract negotiation and implementation process
- Describe political, economic and regulatory forces affecting the implementation of pharmaceutical care
- Use knowledge of an organization¿s political and decision-making structure to influence accomplishing a practice goal
- Participate in the development and implementation of selected policies and procedures
- Effectively participate in or lead committees and informal work groups
- Participate in activities that contribute to the pharmacy¿s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and performance standards (e.g., professional standards, statements, and guidelines, state and federal laws regulating pharmacy practice; OSHA regulations).
- Understand the process of establishing a community pharmacy practice residency program
